Lea G is back with her first original release of the year - EMPATH, a song she wrote about feeling too much and being unable to distance yourself from other people's emotions, in her special introspective way of storytelling and relating to her generation.

After a successful 2022 with the release of her EP “SURVIVAL MODE” and her sold out Headline Show at The Courtyard Theatre in London, as well as racking up more than 400k plays on Spotify and 7 features as BBC Introducing, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter Lea G is now ready to jump into a new era. “EMPATH” is the first single of her new project to be announced later this year and shows the artist has matured in both her sound and way of songwriting. “EMPATH” is the perfect combination of Lea’s unique take on singer-songwriter meets alt-pop, and her love for storytelling and relating to her generation. Bringing back the much-loved acoustic guitars from the “SURVIVAL MODE” EP and combining them with anthemic live drums but a strippen-back arrangement, and lyrically personal, raw, and introspective content, “EMPATH” feels big.

“I wrote EMPATH last summer when I felt like I constantly got super overwhelmed by other people´s feelings because I was unable to separate my own emotions from theirs. I feel the song really helped me notice patterns within myself that I needed to heal so I could start taking better care of my own needs and not just those of others. EMPATH is a song for anyone who is very sensitive to the world around them and struggles to keep their head above water, for all those who overthink and care a lot.”

The song was written with Nashville Songwriter Blake Densmore and produced by up-and-coming producer BROOKFIELD (Anne Marie, Charlie XCX, Ella Henderson).

“EMPATH” is bound to be the new anthem of anyone who feels like they feel too much. Lea’s songs are best characterised by their bold, yet relatable messages conveyed through catchy hooks and nostalgic melodies with influences ranging from the acoustic pop and folk of Ed Sheeran to the alternative rock sound of Florence and The Machine.

Her fresh alt-pop energy collides with her acoustic style and angelic effortless vocals, emitting a comfortable and familiar aura. As an artist, Lea has accumulated over 20K followers across social platforms and 30k monthly listeners on Spotify via her unique take on bedroom pop, and infectious personality. Lea has no plans of slowing down any time soon. Her 3rd EP “SEPARATION ANXIETY” featuring 6 songs about mental health and being a young adult in today ´s world is to release on November 17th of this year.
